We’re all in the same boat.
Gloria Diaab has love for and pride in her adopted home of Alamance County. She married Dr. Douglas Diabb, a local dentist and Alamance native, with whom she started a shea butter business. An entrepreneur and educator, Gloria is also a big booster of local organizations and programs that support the local community, especially North Park. She encourages us as members of our community to find ways to help each other out along our journey in life. As Gloria says, no matter our background, “we’re all in the same boat.”
Gloria grew up in Galveston, Texas. She cherished the culture of her upbringing there, such as the yearly Juneteenth parades, going to the beach, and the achievements of African Americans, including the f irst Catholic high school for Blacks and the first Black Baptist church.
