About Foad Hamidi

Dr. Foad Hamidi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). His research focuses on human-computer interaction, participatory design, and developing accessible technologies for people with diverse needs and abilities. Through interdisciplinary research and community collaboration, he explores how technology and inclusive design practices can empower communities, support people with disabilities, and create more equitable experiences. He also leads the Designing Participatory Futures (DARE) Lab, which develops and evaluates technologies alongside the communities they serve.
