Advancement Sub-Families
Advancement Operations
Positions in the Advancement Operations sub-family plan and manage all aspects of advancement operations, including administration, organization, facilities, fiscal operations, and program initiatives. Duties may include data maintenance and reporting, event management, and oversight of initiatives.
Alumni Relations
Positions in this sub-family provide and manage alumni relations and parent engagement programs to foster loyalty and engage alumni and parents in the vision, mission and goals of the institution. Build and maintain relationships with alumni and parents.
Development
Positions in this sub-family manage, design, develop, and implement fundraising strategies to secure private philanthropic support for the institution from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Develop marketing materials and fundraising plans. Organize programs and events. Identify and cultivate relationships with new and prospective donors. Maintain and develop ongoing relationships to advance giving.
Donor Relations
Positions in this sub-family are responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive program of stewardship and donor relation activities for the university’s donors.
Major Gifts & Planned Giving
Positions in this sub-family are responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors to support university values and academic goals. Employees are typically responsible for fundraising and development for academic schools, research centers or special initiatives. Support positions in this subfamily may support multiple functions across the family.
Parent Relations
Positions in the Parent Relations sub-family provide and manage parent engagement programs to foster loyalty and engage parents in the vision, mission and goals of the institution. Build and maintain relationships with parents.
Principal Gifts
Positions in this sub-family are responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting gifts in excess of $1M to support university values and academic goals. Employees manage a portfolio of major and planned giving prospects, including enhancing the university’s relationship with a select group of the most generous donors, building a network of relationships with prospective donors, and facilitating interactions between donors and university leaders.
