Retiree Eligibility
To qualify as an Elon retiree an employee must be at least 59.5 years of age and have 10 years of service. There is no mandatory retirement age.
Retirement Savings with TIAA
Elon University partners with TIAA to provide employees with access to retirement savings plans designed to support long-term financial security. All full-time regular employees are required to participate in the defined contribution plan after completing a one-year waiting period (unless waived through prior 403(b) participation). Employees are required to contribute 4% of their annual base salary, and Elon contributes 8%. Additionally, Elon employees are 100% vested.
Part-time and full-time employees are eligible to participate in the tax deferred annuity plan at any time while employed.
