Types of Flexible Work Arrangements
Elon University offers two types of seasonal flexible work arrangements for eligible staff members: alternate work schedules and hybrid telework. These options are designed to support employee needs while maintaining the university’s strong commitment to in-person collaboration, student engagement, and community building. Employees may request one type of arrangement during flexible work periods, based on the needs of their position and department.
Alternate Work Schedules
- Modify your regular start and end times (e.g., arrive earlier or later).
- Compress your workweek by working longer days (e.g., four 10-hour days).
- Maintain full-time hours while adjusting your schedule.
Hybrid Telework
- Work remotely up to two days per regular workweek.
- Maintain an in-person presence on campus for the majority of the week.
- Hybrid telework cannot be combined with an alternate work schedule.
