Pilates mat class strengthens and lengthens all muscles in the body, with the focus being mainly on the core. Pilates Mat is based on the original classic exercises by Joseph Pilates which stress the 6 principles: Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow. The practice is always about the quality of movement over quantity, so classes are conducted slowly, allowing for feeling the “burn.”
