Topic: General, Overarching Remarks

Headline: Future Education Decoded

Nutshell: Education will be decoded to: General Education, from K-4 focusing on mastery of literacy and numeracy; Specialized Education, grades 5-10 + two years preparatory for either university or initiating their own business; University, graduate and post-graduate studies will be research focused/based.

Vision:

Education formal systems are facing a huge challenge in accommodating the modern technology as well as the new practices and uses of mobile technology and social media in our daily lives from age 5 and up. Comparing between the existing formal education systems and the higher education that are the result of the industrial revolution in the 18th century and the knowledge economy requirements of the 21st century we can identify the huge gap between theory and practice in these formal education systems as well as their growing disability to meet knowledge economy market demands. Fragmenting education into three levels will make it easier to initiate a system that can accommodate the new requirements of the knowledge economy that can produce responsible citizens who master literacy and numeracy, lifelong learners with skills to meet the changing requirements of the 21st century.
