Vision:I am predicting integration between all platforms and electronic devices; this extends way past just the internet too.
I envision a smart wireless device, much like our modern cell phones that also support whatever general free open source OS that will be mainstream by then. This device will basically take care of your keys, wallet, pc, banking, communication, entertainment, and information needs. You will start your car, get directions, and use an automated system to travel with your device. When making a purchase you can wirelessly adjust and transfer funds to the teller. Want to pay the kid for mowing the lawn… same basic principle! When you finally get home and want to turn on the TV or microwave or any other electronic device that is setup on the system… It’s easy with the wireless smart device and internet that extends throughout the nation.
This also brings a lot of troublesome issues to light as well. We thought identity theft was tough to battle before, now it’s going to be a real killer. A person, who can hack into your device, will be able to be you in every way, financially to controlling your TV!! Yikes!! Hey Norton and MacAfee… start working now on new and improved firewalls and virus scans.. Even worse could be the endless stream of Spam and Pop ups! Just imagine trying to watch ESPN and it keeps going to the Please spend your money gambling channel!!! What a world it will be!
