The program is a partnership between Elon University, Alamance Community College and Alamance Burlington School System to expand the pipeline of new teachers in Alamance County.

The Welcome New Neighbor initiative is a collaboration between the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education and community partners that resettle and support people with refugee backgrounds in Burlington and nearby communities.

The Alamance Scholars Program aims to cultivate a local pipeline for students to become educators in Alamance County. This collaborative initiative, aligned with Elon University's strategic goals, focuses on increasing diversity, dismantling barriers to education, and recognizing the vital role of teachers in community development.

Ofoegbu, a Master's of Higher Education student at Elon and graduate apprentice in the Moseley Center, received the inaugural Outstanding Graduate Student award at the ACUI Region III conference.

Students from Katie Baker's Math 2080 and Erin Hone’s EDU 4200 courses showcased their passion for mathematics education at the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) annual conference in November.

Four outdoor leadership and education majors recently attended the Association for Experiential Education international conference with Evan Small, lecturer in wellness. Through engaging sessions, insightful presentations, and valuable networking opportunities, attendees gained a transformative experience, equipping them with skills, connections and a renewed passion for advancing experiential education globally.

The 65th biennial conference of the North Carolina Library Association was held Oct. 16-20 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Ann Bullock, Dr. Jo Watts Williams Dean of Education, was elected to chair the state commission to establish high standards for state educators and to make rule recommendations regarding all aspects of preparation, licensure, continuing education and standards of conduct for public school educators.
