Welcome to Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences. More than 2,800 students at Elon study in one or more of the 42 majors offered in our 19 academic departments. We expect our students to commit to their academic coursework while taking advantage of Elon's many opportunities to deepen, apply and integrate knowledge in undergraduate research, study abroad, internships, service learning and leadership. Elon College is at the forefront of the university’s efforts to enhance diversity and create an inclusive community, and is committed to helping students fulfill their roles as global citizens.
Surveys of employers consistently support the value of a liberal arts and sciences education in today’s changing workplace. There is great demand for people who have strong critical thinking and communication skills, and the ability to solve complex problems. In addition, employers stress the need for those with intercultural skills, ethical reasoning and a desire and ability to pursue lifelong learning. This is what we offer students in Elon College, the College of Arts & Sciences, and the results are borne out in the success of our alumni. Please take a few minutes to watch a portion of our recent Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony. In this video, you will hear Dr. John Tumbleston, an Elon alumnus, describe the ways in which his Elon education positioned him for success (http://www.elon.edu/e-net/Article/93450).
As you explore our website, you will discover that the Elon Core Curriculum, based in Elon College, provides all students with a strong liberal arts and sciences foundation. Regardless of the majors or minors students pursue, they will interact directly with faculty, staff and students dedicated to helping them transform, succeed and grow. Please be sure to take advantage of all that Elon College has to offer.
At Elon you bELONg!
