Liz Bailey

Liz is a Lecturer in the Department of Health and Human Performance. She is a certified Wellness Coach and holds the Exercise Specialist and Program Director certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine. She has extensive exercise leadership experience with children through older adults. Liz has been offering ‘Lifting with Liz’ for 7 years now through the Fac/Staff Wellness Program. She also runs Phoenix Fit, an early morning exercise program using circuits and Tabata to improve fitness and modify risk factors for disease.

Cricket Foster

Picture of Yoga Instructor, Cricket FosterCricket’s love of movement arts began about the age of seven. Her passion for dance led her to the practice of Pilates that in turn led to the wonderful world of yoga. While working as a personal trainer in a gym in New York City, she pursued her Pilates certifications so that she could encourage others to keep moving for a better quality of life. Cricket also teaches at Zentry.

She obtained her Sundial Yoga and Silver Sneakers certification while she was in Pennsylvania and continued to educate herself obtaining her E-RYT 200 through Carrboro Yoga Company. She is dedicated to continue learning and studying through amazing workshops with the long time practitioners of yoga. Her studies have included great teachers including Sage Rountree, Michael Johnson, Carol Krucoff, Amy Matthews and Leslie Kaminoff. The mind/body balance that yoga develops has encouraged her to share her balance philosophies and love of movement arts.

Michelle Spurlock

Picture of Michelle Spurlock - InstructorMichelle is passionate about health and fitness.  She has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and is also an integrative PharmD, a pharmacist who specializes in holistic health and natural medicine.  She taught at Wingate University School of Pharmacy from 2006 until her family moved here in 2015, when her husband joined the Elon University faculty. Michelle completed her yoga teacher training (RYT 200) through Subtle® Yoga, a therapeutic style of yoga that emphasizes the mind-body connection for promoting healing and wellness. Her yoga classes are accessible to all levels, offering plenty of options so beginners and advanced practitioners alike can honor their own body’s individual needs. Mindfulness techniques are emphasized in each class as well.  Enjoying all different kinds of movement, Michelle also teaches cardio dance and aerial silks.

Eric Reiss

Picture of Eric Reiss - InstructorSifu (“teacher”) Eric Reiss has studied T’ai Chi Ch’uan since 1973. He apprenticed with Dr. Marshall Ho’o, a T’ai Chi master and acupuncturist, for twelve years. Dr. Ho’o certified Sifu Reiss as First Rank Instructor through the National T’ai Chi Ch’uan Association, Los Angeles, CA. In 1989, Sifu Reiss founded the Silk Tiger School. A certified tournament judge, published author, and frequent lecturer, Sifu Reiss teaches throughout the Piedmont region of North Carolina. He is also available for workshops hosted by your school.  Topics include: Meditation, Self-Defense, Introduction to T’ai Chi Ch’uan & Qigong, Fitness for Life!, and Energy Healing.

Shannon Wiggins

Picture of Shannon Wiggins - InstructorProductive, passionate, and energetic are three words that describe Shannon Wiggins. Shannon attended Winthrop University studying in the field of Nutrition and currently lives in Burlington, NC.  She’s been a fitness instructor for over 10 years and is a certified instructor in Pilates, Zumba® Fitness, and X-Bike.  In addition to these classes, Shannon also teaches Step Aerobics and Body Conditioning.
