Professional Development & Career Growth Opportunities at Elon
Elon University concluded a three-year compensation and career architecture project in 2024 called Navigate Your Career. This study resulted in a three-phase adjustment to salaries for Elon employees to strengthen the university’s competitiveness in the market. It also established a foundation for career growth, consistency and professional advancement.

Integration Timeline
Queens employees will be transitioning to Elon employees in multiple phases, depending on the division the employee will be transitioning to.
Phase One
- May 12, 2026: Employees were notified about their transition
- June 29, 2026: Queens employment ends for employees transitioning to Elon Employees as part of phase one
- June 30, 2026: Elon employment and Elon benefits begin for employees transitioning to Elon Employees as part of phase one

- Each job family is grouped based on the similar characteristics and required skills for the general work performed in each position.

Will my salary be adjusted and what will be the timing for that?
Queens employees in phase one will transition to Elon’s payroll and policies on July 1, 2026, with enhanced benefits and a three-phased integration approach to Elon’s competitive salary architecture. Those making under $75,000 annually will have a salary adjustment upon transition. There will be two additional salary range adjustments for transitioning employees earning over $75,000, beginning in 2027.
Remaining operational and administrative units will follow beginning in January 2027. Planning for those areas will take place this summer and fall, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption for employees and students.
Will I need to prepare for or train for new responsibilities or roles?
Employees in phase one with new responsibilities will be trained on new responsibilities and Elon technologies and systems beginning on July 1, 2026.

Employees transitioning to Elon will be notified in their offer letter.
