

The Provost manages internal administrative operations of the university and acts in the absence of the president. The Provost provides leadership and direction for the long-range planning process, the annual priorities for action, and the budget, and oversees the following areas:
The provost/vice president for academic affairs consults as appropriate with the Office of University Advancement and also serves as assistant secretary and assistant treasurer of the Board of Trustees.
As Vice President for Academic Affairs, the responsibilities include the following:
The Provost's Advisory Council and Academic Affairs Advisory Council (see links to the left) broadly reflect the range of academic affairs at Elon. Direct reports to the Provost include the associate provost, assistant vice president for academic affairs, the academic deans of the college/schools, the dean of cultural programs, and the director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. Other members of the councils report directly to the associate provost or assistant vice president for academic affairs.
