As part of Elon’s upcoming 125th anniversary, the university is launching The 1889 Society, a new annual giving society honoring the sustained commitment of Elon’s most loyal alumni donors. Named for the year Elon was founded, The 1889 Society recognizes alumni who demonstrate their Elon pride by making a gift to their alma mater each and every year.
Alumni who support Elon with gifts of any size or designation between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2014, and continue making an annual gift from that point forward, will be included in The 1889 Society’s charter group of donors. Beginning June 1, 2014, only members of each year’s graduating class may join. Alumni maintain their place in The 1889 Society by making a gift every fiscal year, and will be recognized in the annual print and online Honor Roll of Donors.
Each year, gifts from alumni donors in The 1889 Society provide vital funds to support the best of an Elon education including:
• Excellent academic programs
• Outstanding faculty scholars
• Valuable scholarship support for students
• Top-notch facilities
• Life-changing Elon Experiences: study abroad, internships, service,
undergraduate research and leadership
