Research/Creative Interests

My research focuses on leadership development, organizational culture, and well-being, with particular attention to how people lead and learn within educational, athletic, and organizational settings. I am especially interested in research that examines identity, power, and equity in leadership, as well as how intentional leadership practices shape individual and collective outcomes.

What types of “data” do you commonly use?

My research primarily uses qualitative and mixed methods approaches, including interviews, focus groups, reflective writing, and document analysis, to better understand leadership, culture, and lived experience. I am particularly interested in helping students learn how to collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative data in thoughtful and ethical ways.

What types of collaborations are you open to?

I am open to collaborating with undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty on research and applied projects.

What agencies, organizations, or foundations do you have experience with to apply for grants?

  • NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation

  • I am open to students from other disciplines who bring thoughtful questions and commitment to the work.

More Information

Students who work with me can expect a structured and supportive mentoring experience that includes hands-on involvement in qualitative research, regular check-ins, and guidance through research design, analysis, and presentation. I value curiosity, reliability, and thoughtful engagement, and I enjoy working with students who are willing to commit to the research process over time. My mentoring approach is reflective and applied, with an emphasis on helping students develop research skills they can carry into graduate study, professional settings, and leadership roles.
