My broad research interests center on American literature, American studies, southern literature/southern studies, writing and reading instruction, legal writing and rhetoric, and English education.

I am happy to work on student-led projects related to teaching and learning; student success (retention, persistence, belonging, and more); English education (middle school, high school, college); writing and reading practices; and American literary topics including southern studies, literature/rhetoric and the law, and more.
