Research/Creative Interests

I am a diversity science teacher, scholar, and mentor. My scholarship focuses on identity, solidarity, and activism, with an emphasis on the experiences of adopted, racially-minoritized, and queer communities.

What types of “data” do you commonly use?

In my lab we collect and use both quantitative data (on a scale of 1-5 how much do you agree with the following statement) and qualitative data (open-ended answers on surveys, focus groups, interviews). We then used both quantitative and qualitative data analytic methods to answer our research questions.

What types of collaborations are you open to?

I am open to working with students, staff, or faculty on new or existing projects that are focused on (1) adoption, or (2) experiences of marginalization (for instance, across dimensions of race, gender, social class).

Student Qualifications

I am interested in working with students from the social sciences who is interested in studying the experiences of adopted individuals or individuals from minoritized backgrounds (for instance, due to race, gender, social class).
