Research/Creative Interests
My research has focuses on bridging natural and engineered systems to address societal issues, such as the need for clean drinking water and effective stormwater management practices. Fundamentally, I am interested in the upscaling of small or molecular-scale processes (e.g., sorption, biodegradation reactions, and chemical reactions) to predict or explain the behavior of large-scale systems (e.g., watersheds, industrial treatment reactors, and building integrity). I am especially interested in the development of engineered systems that mimic and respect natural processes and materials.
