Research/Creative Interests
I focus on mathematical modeling, primarily of biological systems. My work includes (but is not limited to) differential equation models. I also am interested in mathematical art.
What types of “data” do you commonly use?
I do not always use data in a traditional sense. Often mathematical models are built on prior knowledge (so “data” has already been used in the construction of the model). Sometimes we are able to validate a model with data, such as comparing Covid model predictions to existing CDC data.
What types of collaborations are you open to?
I am interested in solo projects and collaborations including multiple students on similar projects or projects involving additional faculty.
What agencies, organizations, or foundations do you have experience with to apply for grants?
- NSF
Student Qualifications
- Students who want to have fun with math!
- Applied Math or Math majors
