Elon Volunteers!

Elon Volunteers (EV!) is Elon's Umbrella Organization for Service, providing opportunities for Elon students to engage in service through regular programs, one-time events, and alternative break service trips. EV! is student-run and student-led, with over one hundred student leaders coordinating each of EV!'s opportunities.

EV! Programs
- Linking Generations: Volunteer with the elderly in one-on-one settings or with a group.
- Avalon: Tutor and support a community of refugee adults and children.
- E-CERT: Train to respond to natural disasters through regular drills and classroom exercises.
- Coaches: Coach and assist youth sports teams in the Burlington area.
- Lunch Buddies: Eat lunch with an elementary school student once a week.
- S.H.A.R.E.: Volunteer at local animal shelters by playing with and exercising dogs and cats.
- Best Buddies: Form friendships with Alamance Community College students who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.
EV! LINCS Sites
- Allied Churches: Empower the hungry and homeless through serving in the kitchen or the shelter.
- Boys and Girls Club: Tutor and play with kids in an afterschool program for youth.
- Burlington Housing Authority: Work one-on-one with elementary, middle, and high school students.
- Cummings High School: Tutor high school students during and after school.
- Kopper Top Life Learning Center: Help with animal care, trail maintenance, and horseback riding lessons for children with and without disabilities.
- Loaves & Fishes: Stock food in the pantry and pack food bags for low-income community members.
- Positive Attitude Youth Center: Facilitate after school tutoring and recreational activities for youth.
- Family Abuse Services: Assist women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
EV! Events
- Blood Drives: Assist the American Red Cross by recruiting donors, staffing drives, or donating blood.
- Poverty Simulations: Teach others about the impact of poverty.
- Special Olympics: Assist Special Olympics athletes during their track and field events.

Service Organizations
- Safe Rides: Facilitate safe rides for Elon students on weekends through serving as a driver, navigator, or dispatcher.
- Habitat for Humanity: Fundraise and help build houses for residents of Alamance County.
- America Reads: Improve reading and math skills of youth by tutoring at local schools.

EV! Awareness Programs
- Amnesty International, USA: Join a worldwide movement to campaign for internationally recognized universal human rights.
- Invisible Children: Raise awareness and funds to educate former child soldiers of Northern Uganda.
- Sierra Club: Raise awareness about environmental issues and engage in sustainability-based community service work.
- OxFam International: Find solutions to global poverty, hunger, and social injustice.
Campus Kitchen
- Campus Kitchen Project: Collect unused and unserved food and deliver meals to community members in need.
- Stop Hunger Now: Volunteer with Elon students and alumni on homecoming to package meals to be shipped overseas. In 2011, Elon packaged over 32,000 meals. Help us surpass that goal next year!
- National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Participate in a variety of events the week before Thanksgiving break to advocate for local and national homeless communities.
