Leadership Opportunities in EV!

Generally, EV! recruits student leaders once each semester.  In November, we recruit leaders who will begin in the spring semester and stay through the following fall.  In March, we recruit leaders to serve in the following academic year.

Elon Volunteers! (EV!) challenges passionate and committed student leaders to pursue and raise awareness of positive social change by engaging their peers in service.

Elon Volunteers! is a student-run, student-led organization comprised of over 90 student leaders engaging in direct and indirect service with students, staff, faculty, and community partners. Our student leaders and volunteers drive our organization, and you can be a part of that mission too!

Volunteers: Last year, 2,902 students participated in service while at Elon, totaling 102,405 hours of service! EV! is a great place to find programs, events, or other opportunities to engage in service. Potential volunteers are welcome to visit our office in Moseley 230—this is a great way to start getting involved!

Coordinators: Coordinators are in charge of running a specific service program, event, alternative break trip, etc. Their responsibilities include recruiting/training volunteers and working with their service site/community partner. They serve as the go-to people for connecting Elon students with specific service projects that run through Elon Volunteers!. Commitment: 1 year, 2-3 hours per week

Directors: Directors oversee different areas of Elon Volunteers, such as the Events Directors, Programs Directors, Alternative Break Directors, etc. They meet weekly with their coordinators, working to develop the coordinators and programs specific to their area. The Directors, together with the Interns, form the Executive Board of EV!, a body that works to identify possibilities for collaboration within EV!’s branches and advance EV! as a whole . Commitment: 1 year, 4-5 hours per week

Interns: EV!’s three student Interns serve as a resource for all leaders in the Elon Volunteers! office. They oversee the organizational structure of EV! and address big-picture topics like EV! outreach, inner-organizational cooperation and morale, and training for the directors and coordinators. They can be approached with questions or for assistance whenever needed. Commitment: 1 year, 10-15 hours per week

Pro-Staff: Elon Volunteers is housed in the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement. Although we are a student-run program, students are guided by the Professional Staff located in the office and can seek help and advice whenever needed.
