Welcome to Elon’s School of Health Sciences

Elon’s School of Health Sciences includes two academic departments – the Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) and the Department of Physician Assistant Studies (DPAS).

The School of Health Sciences is a vibrant learning community dedicated to creating innovative and engaging learning opportunities. The Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Dr. Rebecca Neiduski, works closely with the leadership team to align activities both inside and outside the classroom, connecting students with the rich opportunities and resources available at Elon University. Faculty and staff ensure that students are both challenged and supported, collaborating across departments to create coursework, experiences, and relationships that will serve our students well into their careers in healthcare.

The mission of Elon University’s School of Health Sciences is to develop dedicated and empathetic healthcare professionals through experiential and engaged learning. We will be recognized for scholarly and clinical excellence and for creating a positive impact in our local and global communities.

The School of Health Sciences is located in the Francis Center, which currently includes over 50,000 square feet of interprofessional learning spaces including classrooms, skills labs, and research spaces. Students enjoy access to a fitness center, locker rooms, study and practice rooms, and common areas to support their needs between classes, in the evenings, and on weekends. The Francis Center will undergo a major renovation by Fall of 2023, including expansion to over 100,000 square feet with a dedicated student entrance, reimagined common spaces to encourage collaboration, and new classrooms, labs, and group study rooms.

Our 2020 Impact Report highlights the ways the School of Health Sciences at Elon University is making an impact. Our faculty and staff are impacting our students through engaged and innovative education. They are impacting their professions through advocacy and leadership, impacting our community through adaptive design and wellness initiatives, and impacting patients locally and globally through service and exceptional patient care.
