Visions is Elon’s student-organized and operated blog and annual publication which features the works of Elon University students from all disciplines with an interest in sustainability. Visions’  mission is to take care of our social and natural environment, to inspire optimism by bringing comfort and community to Elon, amplifying voices through conversation and culture. All submissions are reviewed by our student editors before publication.

Submission Guidelines

What we’re looking for:

Visions welcomes submissions from any Elon undergraduate student across the following categories:

  • Photography
  • Poetry
  • Short fiction
  • Creative nonfiction
  • Research summaries
  • Media reviews

Submissions may be posted on social media or our blog, and are eligible for a spot in our printed Spring issue.

Visions Submission Guidelines

Please note:

  • Please ensure that your work is fully your own, without the help of AI
  • Ensure that your work is free of grammatical errors
  • We do not accept full research papers, only summaries
  • Short fiction is preferred to be between 1,000 to 7,000 words
  • If you are submitting multiple pieces, please submit multiple forms
  • Serif fonts at size 12 preferred

Fall Submissions: September 26, 2023 to November 8, 2023

Spring Submissions: January 3, 2024 to April 11, 2024
