Sustainable Events at Elon
Elon’s Sustainable Events at Elon designation helps student leaders plan and create events that support Elon’s sustainability efforts through waste reduction, purchasing choices, dining options and more. This program is only available for student organized events at this time.
Make your next event a Sustainable Event! To get started:
Step 1: Browse the Green Guide for Student Organizations for inspiration on how to integrate sustainability into your organization.
Step 2: Meet with the Office of Sustainability’s Outreach Intern, Emerson Wells, for a 30-minute session to discuss the details of your event, like sustainable food options and how to decorate without creating waste.
After meeting with the Outreach Intern, you will complete the Sustainable Event Checklist. In order for your event to be designated as a Sustainable Event, your event must meet at least 7 of the Sustainable Event checklist items (from at least two categories).
Step 3: Display the “Sustainable Event” banner at your event to let everyone know that your event was created with sustainability in mind!
