Campus Committees We Serve On

The Gender & LGBTQIA Center serves on a variety of campuswide committees, to aid in its goals of high campus visibility & advanced diversity education across Elon University's campus:

Anti-Defamation League Cadre

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Cadre is a group of 40+ trained facilitators for the "Campus of Difference" trainings which addresses bias and increases intercultural competence for students, staff and faculty. 

Convening Offices For Diversity Education (CODE)

This group links representatives from each of the offices across campus responsible for diversity event planning and diversity education. 

Presidential LGBTQIA Task Force and Implementation Team

This group is charged with the task of created and implementing Elon's three-year strategic plan for LGBTQIA inclusion, as appointed by President Lambert.

LGBTQIA Implementation & Assessment Team (Phase II of the Presidential LGBTQIA Task Force)

This group is charged with the task of implementing Elon's three year strategic plan for LGBTQIA inclusion, created by President Lambert's LGBTQIA Task Force. For questions regarding the continued progress of the strategic plan: or

Provost’s Inclusive Community Team

This group contains senior administrators and members across key stake-holders in diversity work at Elon, including the Diversity Centers, Student Life, Provost's Office, Admissions and Advancement. 

Sexual Assault & Gender Issues Committee

This group advises senior administrators on necessary policy changes and advocacy efforts related to increasing awareness and education around gender related topics, sexual assault, bystander intervention, and resource allocations for departments related to health and wellness. 

Task Force on Community Responsibility and Standards For Reporting, Preventing, and Responding to Sexual Assault

This group is charged with the creation of a multi-year plan to advance full compliance and increase education regarding Title IX, sexual assault prevention and bystander intervention.

Vice President’s Council for Student Life 

This group represents the senior leadership for the division of Student Life. They assist in creating collaborations across the university where Student Life has been asked to partner and help to implement both the division's strategic plan and the university wide strategic plan.

Women’s & Gender Studies Advisory Council

This group convenes several faculty and staff who teach across multiple divisions for the WGS minor. This council approves new courses with a gender and sexuality focus and plans an annual banquet each year for graduating WGS minors.
