North Carolina - Activating Citizenship Through Service (NC-ACTS) is an AmeriCorps Program in which current students can participate.
NC-ACTS is a great opportunity for students who are dedicated to helping in their community (who are either already involved or looking to get involved).
Students have a calendar year to complete 300 hours of service in one of the following areas (Education, Human Needs/Services, and Volunteer Recruitment/Capacity Building). Participating students will receive a $1,000 education award through the Corporation for National and Community Service after completing their volunteer hours and exit paperwork.
Participating students are required to complete a commitment agreement, enrollment and exit paperwork, serve their volunteer hours every week, turn in a monthly time log and participate in at least two reflection sessions.
Submitting an application and going through an interview does not guarantee your ability to participate in the program.
