| One-Time Volunteer Opportunities Through EV! (Elon Volunteers), the Kernodle Center for Service Learning offers many one-time service opportunities for students held at various times throughout the year.
Adopt A Grandparent Adopt A Grandparent hosts a Senior Prom in the fall and helps with the Alamance County Memory Walk in the spring. If you are interested in participating please email adoptagrand@elon.edu. Blood Drives Help promote and participate in the American Red Cross blood drives on campus. You can either give blood or help out by serving those that gave blood. Please email blooddrive@elon.edu for more information. Elon Service Day Volunteer alongside the rest of the Elon Community on this statewide service day in April. The day is full of one-time service projects perfect for individuals and groups. Family Abuse Services Family Abuse Services gives you the opportunity to act as a role model to children with a family crisis by assisting in the nursery. They also have many events in October for Domestic Violence Awareness month as well as volunteering at Finder’s Keepers (to work the register or stock shelves on the weekend) that you can volunteer for. Please contact fas@elon.edu for more information. Invisible Children Each year Invisible Children hosts a Walk A Thon that both individuals and groups can participate in. Kopper Top Life Learning Center Volunteers help with therapeutic horseback riding lessons, pet therapy at area nursing homes and feeding/ caring for some of the over 100 animals. There is also a Ride A Thon Fundraiser typically in November that you can volunteer at. Please email koppertop@elon.edu for more information. Make A Difference Day Volunteer on this nationally-recognized day in October to show the impact and importance of community service in Alamance County. Please contact serviceday@elon.edu for more information. Safe Rides Safe Rides is to prevent drunk driving and walking alone late at night by providing free rides within a one mile radius of campus. Volunteer as a driver, navigator or dispatcher to offer rides for students on the weekends. Please email saferides@elon.edu if you are interested in participating. Service Trips Trips vary year to year but normally occur during fall, spring, fake break, and summer. Past trips have gone to help with disaster relief efforts, focused on poverty, the environment, etc. For more information about applying to participate in and lead service trips contact trips@elon.edu. Please click here for the service trips website S.H.A.R.E (Students Helping Animals Regain Equality) Advocate for animal rights and help at animal shelters and adoption fairs the first and third Saturday of every month. Join our On Call Volunteer Corps The Kernodle Center has contact with over 50 agencies in the community and often gets special requests for volunteers. Join the On-Call Volunteer Corps to receive weekly e-mails announcing one time events.
