Campus safety and services during summer break

With the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year for undergraduate students and many graduate programs, some campus services are shifting their hours for the summer to adjust to having fewer students on campus and fewer events planned.

Emergency and Crisis Response

• As a reminder, Campus Safety & Police will operate as normal, 24-hours per day, seven days a week, and can be reached at 336-278-5555. They can also assist with connections to the Student Life on-call administrators, who are available 24/7 throughout the summer.
• SAFEline is always available at 336-278-3333 for confidential support with sexual and relationship violence response – they can also be a confidential resource to access on-call violence responders.
• For urgent mental health needs, the Counselor On-Call is available at 336-278-2222.
• For any life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1.

Parking

Undergraduate students, if you are planning to leave your car on campus, you may park in the South Gym lot, South Campus Student Health Center lot, or the Danieley Center.

TimelyCare Virtual Medical and Mental Health Care – available to students all summer

• Virtual medical and mental health services through TimelyCare will be available to all Elon students through July 31, regardless of whether you are enrolled in summer classes, as long as you are in the United States.
• Information is available on the Elon TimelyCare website, and can also be accessed through the appointments pages of the Counseling Services and Student Health Services websites.

Campus Services Available During Summer Break

Belk Library

• Belk Library will be open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, through Thursday, May 29, and closed on Friday, May 30.
• Summer hours will begin Saturday, May 31: Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. – 11 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
• The library will be closed for the Independence Day holiday weekend, Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6.
• Please visit the Belk Library website for current library hours for Phoenix cardholders and community members.

Campus Bookstore – Barnes & Noble at Elon University

• Starting Tuesday, May 27, the bookstore will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. It will be closed on Sundays and holidays coinciding with University closures.
• Updated hours for specific dates are always available on the bookstore website.

Campus Recreation

• Currently closed until Monday, June 2
• Summer Session I hours
  • Koury Center: June 2- June 27: Monday-Friday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Beck Pool: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Noon – 1:30 p.m.
  • PARC Fitness Center: Daily 4 a.m. – midnight
  • Driving Range: Monday-Friday Noon – 7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Summer Session II and August hours

• No clinical appointments are available Monday, May 26, through Friday, May 30.

  • Administrative Office Hours: weekdays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Clinical Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. –  4 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Closed weekends and holidays

• On-demand mental health support is available 24/7 throughout the summer using TimelyCare’s “TalkNow” service. For information about how to access the service, visit TalkNow on the Counseling Services website.

Elon Dining

• Starting Tuesday, May 27, Lakeside Dining Hall will be open weekdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be closed on most weekends and holidays coinciding with university closures.
• Additional hours may be available based on the camps and conference schedule.
• Menus and hours are always available online.

Elon Express and Campus Transportation

• All Elon Express routes will stop service at the end of shifts on Tuesday, May 20. Elon Express will resume routes in August with the start of the Fall semester.

Moseley Center

• Summer hours of operation will be in effect Tuesday, May 27 until Sunday, August 17
  • Weekdays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., except Friday, May 30: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Staff Day)
  • Saturdays: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Sundays: Closed
  • Moseley will be closed July 4 and 5 in observance of Independence Day
  • Updated building hours of operation are available online.
• Irazu Coffee Summer Hours:
  • Weekdays: 8 a.m. – Noon
  • Closed weekends and holidays coinciding with University closures
• Mail Services Summer Hours:
  • Weekdays: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Closed weekends and holidays coinciding with University closures
  • If you are in Elon for the summer (June & July) and would like to continue to receive mail and packages, you MUST fill out the Summer Address Notification Form in OnTrack. Visit the Summer Mail page for more information. This only applies to returning students, not students who have graduated.

Residence Life

• Residence Hall Residents
  • Residence halls closed last Tuesday, May 20.
  • Information about requests to stay late or return early can be found on the Residence Life website’s Break Housing page.

• Campus Apartment Residents
  • Apartments close on Saturday, May 31, at 10 a.m., unless an apartment resident has renewed the exact same space and has a June 1 lease start date. (Note that the Crest has an August first lease start date).
• The central Residence Life office and apartment neighborhood offices (Station, Oaks and Danieley) remain open during the summer break during regular weekday business hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., except when University offices are closed. Residence hall neighborhood offices are closed in summer.

Student Health Services

• Starting June 2, appointments in the Ellington Center clinic will be available every Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and every other Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
• Starting June 4, appointments with a provider will be available in the Francis Center every other Wednesday, 12 noon – 3:30 p.m. For SHS graduate students only. Please call the office at 336-278-7230 for appointments at the Francis Center, as these appointments cannot be scheduled online.
• Administrative staff will be available by phone Monday and Tuesday and every other Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; closed for lunch from Noon – 12:30 p.m.
