Why give?

Annual gifts from alumni and friends sustain excellence in the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education and support the work of outstanding students and faculty. Funds are managed by the School of Education Dean’s Fund to ensure that every gift has the greatest impact on students, faculty, programs, and the children and young people we serve. Annual gifts of all sizes are appreciated and are put to work immediately to enhance programs and opportunities that set School of Education graduates apart from their peers.

For students…

In addition to supporting endowed scholarships, gifts provide emergency funds for students in need and support student undergraduate research including registration and travel funds for students to attend and present their work at conferences. Gift funds are used for projects in our teacher candidates’ P-12 classrooms and for special student-led projects such as the Little Free Library and The Elon Network. In addition, funds support travel both here and abroad for students with financial need.

For faculty…

Gifts provide funds for much needed equipment and other research and teaching resources that benefit both our Elon students and the community at large. Gifts are used to provide materials for faculty-led projects, camps, and initiatives that serve children and young adults from diverse backgrounds. In addition, funds are used to support student/faculty book clubs and summer research and professional development.

For programs…

Gifts support conferences organized by faculty such as EdCamps and the DIVAS conference on diversity. Funds are used to bring nationally recognized speakers to campus.

Annual gifts of all sizes are appreciated and are put to work immediately to enhance programs and opportunities that set School of Education graduates apart from their peers. Donors who make annual gifts of $1,500 or more are recognized as part of The Elon Society, the university’s premier annual giving recognition group.
