Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois. KDP “was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.” Elon’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was installed on Nov. 14, 1995, as Chapter 275.

Each spring undergraduate and graduate students are inducted into Elon’s Sigma Gamma chapter. Acceptance into KDP is based on academic excellence (GPA of 3.6 or higher) and the recommendation of teacher education faculty members. For more information, contact Dr. Stephen Byrd, faculty sponsor.

Phi Kappa Phi

Each spring, eligible students, including many teacher candidates, are invited to be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi.
