National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week

During NCAAW we help distribute information about alcohol use and misuse including ways to reduce your risk when drinking to help Elon students make choices that are best for them!

Suicide Prevention Efforts

During Fall Semester, SPARKS Peer Educators spearhead the U bELONg Walk, an opportunity to promote awareness around and prevention of suicide among college students. The goal of the event is to remind Elon students that even when their mental health is at its worst, they are not helpless, and they are not alone. In the spring, SPARKS Peer Educators collaborate throughout the campus community to fundraise for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention through an Out of The Darkness Walk. In the inaugural walk of 2022, the community raise over $22,000 for suicide prevention and education.

Are You Smarter Than A Sexpert?

SPARKS Peer Educators host a Sexual Health Education trivia night event (game show style). The event is emceed by special guest host – Dr. Tanya Bass, Southern Sexologist and Founder of NCSEXCON. This is a student led event for a university-wide audience. Students are encouraged to sign up to participate as teams to compete for sexual health-related prizes.

Pet Therapy

Take a break and enjoy therapeutic recreation through animals like cats, dogs and bunnies. This event is presented in collaboration with the student leaders of the Kernodle Center for Civic Life and Kopper Top Life Learning Center.

Tabling

Party Smart!

Learn how to “Party Smart” by being a responsible host and part-goer! Understand the signs of alcohol poisoning and practice pouring an accurately measured standard drink size so that if you choose to drink, you can choose to Party Smart!

Looking for tips on how to make it to the end of the semester? Wondering how you might maintain some healthy habits while facing uncertainty and a packed schedule? Join the peer educators to create a personalized spring semester survival kit and gain some ideas on how to boost your overall wellness.
