Logging Into WordPress

Before making changes in our WordPress CMS it is necessary to log in using your Elon username and password. To log in, use one of the following admin URL’s below:

  • General admin URL: https://www.elon.edu/u/wp-admin/
  • Site specific admin URL: https://www.elon.edu/path/to/your/site/wp-admin/, for example: https://www.elon.edu/u/academics/business/wp-admin/

Once you log in, you will be redirected to the Elon University Login Service (pictured below). Enter the same credentials that you use for your Elon email account and click the Login button.

 

Accessing Your Website Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you log into the administration area of your site. If you have permissions to manage multiple sites in WordPress, you will have access to multiple Dashboards. Each site has its own Dashboard granting you access to the pages and media specific to that site.

You can easily distinguish the site you are currently editing based on the site name located in the Dashboard admin bar:

If you logged in using your site specific admin URL you will be redirected to your site’s WordPress Dashboard:

If you logged in using the general admin URL, then use the My Sites dashboard widget to easily access the Dashboard for the site you want to edit:
