This Transition Strategies class, which is offered in Fall, Winter, and Spring, focuses on preparation for life after Elon with the intent of bridging the transition from Elon to the “real world.” The course incorporates the Revson Series, which consists of eight separate lectures designed to provide students with basic “how-to” information relevant to their personal development and life after Elon.
In addition, students will prepare for internships, jobs and graduate school by developing a resume, establishing job contacts, identifying job search strategies and learning how to interview effectively.
Students can register for this course during the regular pre-registration and registration time periods by looking under Cooperative Education (COE) as the subject and 310 as the course number on OnTrack.
The Revson Series was developed with funding from a gift to the university from Diana and Charles Revson P’11. Through a two-year pilot which began in Fall 2011, the curriculum was created and training provided for faculty and staff who teach the modules. To enhance faculty expertise, Elon hosted a lecture series on each of the course topics and invited experts in the field to work with faculty to develop lesson plans and reading materials for each course.
