The Center for Leadership (CFL) is focused on supporting students as they learn, practice, and make meaning of being a leader at Elon and beyond. Students practice leadership skills in student organizations, through peer mentoring experiences, on and off campus employment, and by volunteering. The CFL offers leadership programming, leadership coaching, and engagement opportunities. We encourage everyone to stay connected by following our social media pages or check out the opportunities listed throughout our website.

Here are just a few more ways you can get involved in leadership development at Elon through the Center for Leadership:
- Sign up to attend a Leadership Workshop
- Deepen a leadership experience by earning the Leadership ELR
- Help your organization grow through student organization development
- Take a class in the Leadership Studies minor
- Follows us and our events through Instagram (@elonleadership), The Leaderpod, the LEAD Blog and our bi-weekly Newsletter
- Practice your leadership skills with our partner office, ELOA (Experiential Learning & Outdoor Adventures). ELOA, a unit in Campus Recreation, is affiliated with the Center for Leadership and encourages students to challenge themselves by trying the High Ropes course or joining one of their many trips. Each semester, the ELOA team sponsors approximately 25 trips for students to explore and grow their leadership abilities in dynamic, experiential settings.

Students Are Important Leaders (SAIL) Week is scheduled for September 29th – October 3rd, 2025. Check our webpage for updates on the week’s events and leadership development opportunities open to all Elon students!

Phoenix Leaders Program: The Phoenix Leaders Program is an opportunity for emerging leaders to engage in a reflective leadership journey during their first or second year at Elon! This program equips students in the program with leadership skills through workshops and an overnight retreat. Our goal is that participants can create positive change at Elon after participating in this program. Visit the Phoenix Leaders page for more information.
- Leadership Lunch & Learns: The CFL hosts lunchtime leadership workshops 9-10 times each semester on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Be sure to register in advance on PhoenixConnect so we can provide lunch for you! Just search for the CFL in the events tab.
- Leadership Coaching: Ready to take your leadership journey to the next level? Schedule a personalized coaching session with the Center for Leadership. Whether you’re navigating a challenge, exploring new leadership strategies, or aiming to grow specific skills, our team is here to help. Book an appointment by contacting Olivia Brown (obrown10@elon.edu) or lead@elon.edu. We will assist you in building the leadership toolkit you need to succeed.
- Leadership ELR Information Sessions: Interested in gaining an ELR in Leadership? You can complete the ELR for a formal leadership role/position or through a self-identified initiative to create positive change.
