Student Organization Resources

1-on-1 Virtual Organization Consulting

Examples of 1-on-1 organization consulting topics include, but are not limited to: facilitation of event debrief, event planning, conflict resolution and boosting creativity. Experienced student leaders that are a part of the Center for Leadership Intern team are available to assist student organizations. These students can recommend specific university resources or help student groups reach their goals. Contact orgdevelopment@elon.edu for more information or stop by the Center for Leadership (located next to the Global Neighborhood sand volleyball court).

Customized Leadershops

Request a Leadershop that meets your organization’s needs. The Center for Leadership staff is prepared to provide customized workshops in many areas including Effective Meetings, Transitioning Leadership, Recruitment & Retention, Team Building, Conflict Resolution, Goal Setting, and more!

Leadershops

Leadershops, or leadership workshops, are available for any and all Elon students to advance their leadership knowledge and skills. Leadershops help you understand yourself as a leader, how to work effectively with others, and how to create change. These leadership experiences have been intentionally designed to provide you an opportunity to connect with fellow students, explore concepts of leadership, reflect on your leadership capacity, and identify goals and future opportunities. Leadershops are facilitated by Center for Leadership staff and delivered in an interactive, reflective format ranging from 60-90 minutes. You can sign up for a Leadershop via the Center for Leadership’s PhoenixCONNECT page!

Resources for Building Virtual Teams

Click on the following links to get to more information about managing your team virtually!

Student Organization Handbook

The Student Organization Handbook provides organization leaders and members valuable information, including Organization Leader Responsibilities, Event Planning Resources, Financial Management Information and the Code of Conduct for Student Organizations.

Van Driving Certification

In order for student organizations to be eligible to operate University vehicles for organization purposes, a University Motor Vehicle Drivers Training Course must be completed. The course consists of an online application, a Moodle course, and a road test. To qualify for the course, students must be at least 19 years of age, have had three years of driving experience and maintain a safe driving record.

Visit the Moseley Center for the Van Driver Application and Training information.

Hazing Prevention

In order to stop or prevent hazing, we must all work together to create a culture of respect. As a student leader, we want to ensure you know how to report hazing, thoroughly understand Elon University’s hazing policy and are aware of hazing prevention resources.

Tailgating

Tailgating is a favorite Elon tradition. Nothing could be better than gathering with your organization members before home football games. Elon is a beautiful setting for college football and we welcome groups of students to sign-up for tailgating in the reserved Student Zone (Bank of America). Support the Elon Phoenix and sign up for Fall tailgating!

Student Government Association

The purpose of the Student Government Association is to represent the rights and opinions of the student body in a manner consistent with the mission of Elon University, to provide for appropriate student activities, and to join with the faculty and administrators of the university in building a stronger, more effective educational community. If you have questions for SGA regarding budget allocations, stop by their office in Moseley 213.

Leo M. Lambert Awards Ceremony

Each spring, SGA hosts the Leo M. Lambert Awards Ceremony. The purpose of the ceremony is to recognize outstanding student organizations and leaders for their service to their organizations and to Elon. We encourage all organizations and individuals to apply and we ask that they are in good organization, academic and social standing with the University.

Check back for the Spring 2021 date for the 25th annual Leo M. Lambert Awards Ceremony.
