About LeaderShape

LeaderShape is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a just, caring, and thriving world where all lead with integrity and a healthy disregard for the impossible. LeaderShape works to do this by having conversations that matter.

About the Institute

The Institute has been a program of LeaderShape for 30 years. Originally developed by the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity as a means of improving campus leadership, the Institute now serves people representing a wide variety of organizations throughout the United States and internationally.

The Institute challenges participants to lead with integrity while working towards a vision grounded in their deepest values. Participants explore not only what they want to do, but who they want to be. Dynamic, challenging, and exciting, the week is intended to produce a breakthrough in the leadership capacity of participants—benefiting them individually, as well as their respective communities and the organizations they will go on to lead and serve in the future.

Benefits

You will receive valuable leadership development that will benefit you during your time at Elon and beyond. You will have an opportunity to develop and implement a personal vision project intended to benefit a student organization, Elon’s campus, or a wider community. LeaderShape is a great opportunity for you to interact with other Elon students and leaders, but you will also be supported and mentored by Elon faculty and staff members throughout the week. As a LeaderShape participant, you will meet alumni and influential community leaders.

“LeaderShape was an amazing opportunity for my leadership development, as it taught me many new skills and further elaborated on areas I have learned on before. I was able to gain new perspectives from my fellow participants and the amazing staff, while being inspired to live in a world of possibility every day onward. I cannot wait to take what I learned from LeaderShape and apply it back to my every day life at Elon.”

LeaderShape carved out intentional time to evaluate where my passions lie. It created space to freely imagine a vision of a perfect world with no limitations. With the atmosphere of limitless boundaries encouraged, I narrowed down the issue that I’d like to tackle: education. I bounced ideas off of other inspired visionaries. It was incredible to be able to bask in the possibilities of what we, as young leaders, could do to ignite true change.”
