4-Year Leadership Programs

              


Leadership Fellows are selected before commencing their first year at Elon. Fellows  share an Elon 101 class and a common Global Studies course in the fall, attend a Leadership retreat, collaborate on a community project, and complete the Emerging Leaders Program.

              

The Isabella Cannon Leadership Program (ICLP) is a four-phase program that uses an interdisciplinary and co-curricular approach to help students develop and practice leadership.

            

Annual Leadership Programs

              


Each year, the Isabella Cannon Distinguished Visiting Professor of Leadership spends several days at Elon sharing insights and leadership lessons through classroom visits, private meetings, receptions, question & answer periods, and formal lectures.

              

Intersect:  DIversity and Leadership Conference is a two day event focused on providing students, faculty, and staff with tools to be successful leaders in their student organizations and global citizens.

            
 

Leadership for Lunch is an opportunity for student leaders to enhance their leadership skills and gain insight from other students on various leadership topics.

 


LEADstrong is a week held in the Fall celebrating leadership within the Elon University community.

 

 


The Life Entrepreneur Program (LEP) includes a 2 day retreat and a one-credit hour course led by faculty and peer leaders during the first half of the spring semester.

 


A one day opportunity for student organization presidents to collaborate with one another as well as with Elon senior leadership including the Vice President of Student Life and the University President.

 

Summer Leadership Programs

              


Every summer Elon University partners with Alamance Chamber of Commerce to host the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy (AYLA) summer institute. AYLA is a middle school leadership program dedicated to empowering youth.

              

Elon Adventures in Leadership (AIL) is an outdoor experience of hiking, camping, climbing, group initiatives, and white-water rafting offered only to incoming Elon students as part of the First Year Summer experience.

            

Other Leadership Programs

              


Students can also take advantage of academic leadership opportunities by taking credit-bearing courses and completing the Leadership Studies Minor, by meeting Elon's Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR) through leadership development, or by being inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa, National Leadership Honor Society.

              

Members of Student Organizations at Elon can utilize the Center for Leadership's Organizational Development resources. Members can schedule a meeting with a student-leader/leadership consultant; attend Leadership for Lunch sessions; participate in the Intersect Conference; or program a Elon Challenge Course experience.

            
              


The Center for Leadership promotes global leadership development. Students can apply for the Summer Internship Program in Lithuania. Members of the Isabella Cannon Leadership Program who opt to study abroad are also eligible to apply for a Study Abroad Travel Grant.

              

The Elon Challenge Course is an accredited high and low ropes course located on 18 wooded acres just a ½ mile away from Elon’s main campus. Participants work together to reach beyond their perceived boundaries, overcome obstacles and experience success in a variety of problem-solving initiatives and ropes course elements.
