The GEC team is excited to work with you to plan your study away experience! We offer a number of different ways to access advising, and the best choice will depend on where you are in the process. Information sessions are great for students who are just getting started or interested in the other topics covered. Drop-in sessions are great for quick, specific questions.

Drop-in Advising
Drop-in hours are held in the GEC, 3rd floor Global Commons, from 2-4 PM every weekday on which class occurs. Advisors share responsibility for drop-in hours, so specific advisors may or may not be available. Drop-in conversations generally take between 5-10 minutes and are a good opportunity to ask quick questions regarding study away programs.

Choosing & Applying to a Program
When you are ready to choose a program, the GEC has several different resources to help you decide which program is right for you. These resources include advanced information sessions, drop-in hours, and individual advising appointments with the program advisor(s). Find a program’s advisor either through that program’s brochure page or by consulting the information above, and schedule an individual appointment using the links above.
After Application
If you have already applied to a program, you may want to visit the GEC during drop-in hours or make an appointment with your program’s advisor.
