Sample Resumes and Resume-Writing Guidelines

Although new hiring and human resources technology and the increased use of professional networking sites like LinkedIn have provided numerous alternatives to the standard resume, it is still vital to your success to have a professional and effective resume.

Resumes can be one or two pages, depending on the depth of your relevant experiences and involvement; two page resumes should include your last name and page number as a header on the second page. The resume and accompanying documents work together to communicate your skills to potential employers – ultimately earning an interview, and hopefully, a job offer.

More guidelines concerning format and content of resumes can be found on the main Student Professional Development Center’s website. To get assistance in crafting or updating your resume, contact the SPDC and ask to schedule an appointment with one of our career services professionals.
