Student Professional Development Center

Amber McCraw

Assistant Director of Career Services, School of Communications

As the Assistant Director for the School of Communications, Amber meets with students to offer them support in their career exploration process.  She collaborates with students to set goals, identify career options, expand their personal network by connecting them with professionals, establish their personal brand, create strategies for the job search, practice interviewing skills, and create high quality resumes/cover letters for the search process.
Prior to this position, Amber served as a Career Advising Fellow at Elon for the 2014-2015 year, and earned degrees from both the University of Georgia and North Carolina State University.

As an advisor, she works with students from all majors to help them set and reach their career goals.  This includes working with students to update their resumes, practice their interviewing skills, develop their professional brand via LinkedIn, and provide them with resources for the internship and job search.  She also works with residence life and other partners across campus to provide career-related programs, presentations, and drop-in advising hours in an effort to meet student’s needs in a way that is convenient for them.
