Tom Brinkley is the Executive Director of Corporate and Employer Relations. He has responsibility for directing both the Office of Career Services and the Office of Corporate and Employer Relations at Elon.
Tom joined Elon in December 2011 after more than 30 years in corporate human resources, management consulting, and higher education. Tom was most recently a Partner with Coleman Lew & Associates, Inc., a top international executive search firm, and managed over 150 search assignments for senior level positions at client organizations. Prior to his work at Coleman Lew, he served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Oakwood Homes Corporation in Greensboro, NC, and before that as Director of Executive Education and MBA Career Services at Wake Forest University.
After beginning his career as an English teacher in Durham County, Tom joined FMI Corporation in Raleigh, NC, and then served in a variety of roles in recruiting and human resources for RJR Nabisco in Winston-Salem. Tom works closely with academic deans, faculty, alumni and advisory boards to develop and execute a strategic plan for corporate and employer relations, with the goal of developing and growing the number and quality of career opportunities for Elon students who are seeking employment or graduate school admission.
