Incoming Transfer Students Process
Starting in Spring 2026, transfer students are subject to the two-year residency requirement and will be guaranteed on-campus housing.
Living on campus immerses you in the Elon community so you can build relationships that integrate academic and social aspects of college life.
Elon University has a two-year residency requirement. For most students, this means having the option to choose off-campus housing for their junior and senior years. As a transfer, you’ll receive a housing credit for each fall or spring semester completed at full-time status at another institution. Residence Life will work with the Admissions Office and Office of the Registrar on these evaluations.
Incoming transfer students must complete the housing application in Self Service (https://elon.starrezhousing.com/starrezportalx). Incoming transfers are placed in housing and cannot participate in any current student housing selection processes.
