All About Transfer Admissions
Would you like to transfer to Elon? Here's what you need to know about the admissions process for transfer students.
How to Apply
Here's how to apply as a transfer student:
Get a transfer application and Dean's Evaluation form by calling the Elon Admissions Office at 800-334-8448. You can also download these forms. You may apply online if you prefer to do so.
Have your final official high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores sent directly to Elon. (Elon's school code is 5183 for the SAT and 3096 for the ACT.) The SAT/ACT may be waived for some advanced students or nontraditional students who did not take the test while in high school.
Ask the registrar of each college you have attended to mail a transcript of your work directly to the Elon Admissions Office.
Have the Dean's Evaluation Form completed by the dean of students at each college you attended. You must be eligible to return there to qualify for transfer to Elon. This form is not required if you have earned an associate degree.
Mail the completed application and any recommendations that you would like to submit to the Admissions Office with the processing fee (nonrefundable). Additional recommendations are not required but will be considered as part of the application review process if submitted.
- International Students must submit the Visa Clearance Form if they are a non US citizen seeking to transfer from another college or university in the United States.
Transfer students are admitted to Elon based on their academic record at the institution from which they are transferring.
To be considered for transfer admission, the student is expected to have satisfactory completion of at least 12 hours (1 semester full-time enrollment) of transferable college credits with a minimum cumulative 2.7 grade point average, to be eligible to return to all institutions attended and to be recommended by college officials.
A minimum of 132 semester hours of credit is required for the bachelor's degree. At least 60 semester hours must be completed at Elon, including the last term before graduation.
Note: Students seeking the B.S. degree in Business Administration must earn at least 50 percent of the business credit hours at Elon. At least 50 percent of the accounting credit hours required for the B.S. in Accounting must be earned at Elon.
The priority deadline for transfer application for the fall semester is June 1; for spring semester, December 1. After these dates, applications will be considered on a space-available basis.
