An Elon education is worth it

We’re aware of rising college costs and financial pressure on families. That’s why Elon University is committed to providing an exceptional education at a reasonable cost. We strive to meet the financial needs of admitted students and offer a variety options to help make college more affordable.

Update on the 2024-25 FAFSA

The 2024-25 FAFSA was delayed until December 31, 2023. At that time, colleges and universities expected to receive results in late January. The U.S. Department of Education has updated this timeline and notified all schools that FAFSA results will now be made available in mid-March.

For New Students entering Fall 2024

In addition to the FAFSA, which determines eligibility for Federal Aid, Elon requires the CSS Profile from The College Board. The Profile allows us to determine institutional financial aid eligibility.  Beginning in February, Elon will post estimated financial aid offers to accepted students who have completed and submitted the CSS Profile. This estimate will include all aid for which the student should be eligible. Offers will first be presented to students with demonstrated financial need.  Any adjustments to aid offers will be made after the official results of the FAFSA are received in March and an updated offer letter will be issued at that time.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to providing the financial resources available to support your Elon education.

For Returning Students

Receiving the results of the FAFSA in mid-March should not impact the renewal of financial aid offers to returning students. The typical timeline for Financial Aid staff to evaluate returning students begins in April.

Tuition & Aid

Invest in your future

Elon’s tuition is often $16,000 less than peer institutions, and our students graduate with a wealth of real-world experiences that support their transition to life after college and ensure they stand out when applying for a first job or graduate school. An investment in an Elon education produces results.

Odyssey Program

An exceptional experience

The four-year Odyssey Program is a selective program for academically strong, civically engaged, action-oriented leaders with demonstrated high financial need. Approximately 60 scholarships are available each year.

For students entering in fall 2024, Elon is pleased to offer two Commitment to Democracy Awards. Established in 2021 and built upon the hope for an end to terrorism and spread of democracy around the world, two scholarships will support students inside or outside the United States who have been displaced by conflict or natural disaster, including but not limited to, Afghanistan, Syria and Haiti. The awards, which include endowed scholarships and other university funding, will support tuition, room and board for four years.
