Steps in Applying

Apply early for need-based aid. This improves your chances for getting the maximum aid for which you are eligible.

You should complete and submit all applications as soon as possible after October 1. We will begin to download and review applications in late January for first year students and in May for continuing students.

Unless the student is a continuing student, no aid is awarded until the student has been accepted for admission to Elon University; however, you should not wait until you have been accepted to apply for aid.

  1. If you are interested in federal aid only, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Elon’s FAFSA federal Title IV school code is 002927.
  2. If you are interested in all types of aid, complete and submit both the CSS PROFILE and the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1. Elon’s CSS PROFILE code is 5183.
  3. Notify Elon’s Office of Financial Planning of any scholarships, grants, loans or other assistance you will be receiving from any source other than Elon University. Such notification is required by federal regulation as well as institutional policy.
