*Elon offers a test-optional admissions program. The most important factors in the admissions decision are the academic record (including courses taken, grades attained and class standing), application essay, leadership potential, extracurricular and service-related activities, special talents and ability to contribute positively to the campus community.

**A first-year application must be submitted by November 25.

Early Decision Plan

Application Deadline: November 1 | Notification Date: December 1

Students whose first choice is Elon are encouraged to apply Early Decision.

What you need to know about Early Decision:

  • Application commitment is binding
  • You may only apply to one school Early Decision
  • If admitted, applications must be withdrawn from all other colleges and universities
  • Parents/guardians and students sign an Early Decision Agreement on the application
  • A non-refundable $500 enrollment deposit is required by January 10
  • You cannot defer admission under Early Decision

Early Action Plan

Application Deadline: November 1 | Notification Date: December 20

Students who would like an early answer on their application status may apply Early Action. Early Action is non-binding, and students are permitted to apply to other schools in addition to Elon.

Spring First-Year

Application Deadline: December 1 | Notification Date: Rolling

High school graduates who would like to start their college career in the spring may apply Spring First-Year.

Regular Deadline

Application Deadline: January 10 | Notification Date: March 20

This is the final application deadline for first-year admissions. Applications received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.

Fellows Programs

Application Deadline: January 15 | Notification Date: April 1

The Elon Fellows programs offer academically talented students exciting advantages like special courses, guaranteed internships, paid research assistantships, faculty mentoring, grants for study abroad and scholarships. To learn more about each program, please visit the Fellows Programs website. A separate application is required and due January 15. Students selected for the Fellows competition will be notified of their admission decision at the time the Fellows invitation is extended in early February.

Odyssey Program

Application Deadline: January 15

Students with strong academic and leadership potential who also demonstrate high financial need are eligible for scholarships in the Odyssey Program, which provides financial, academic, social and mentoring/advising to ensure participants have the opportunity to fully engage in Elon’s many experiences. To be considered for these scholarships, students must first submit a first-year application, then Apply Online to Odyssey and submit the FAFSA. Upon completion and submission of these materials, the Scholarship Committee will review your application and you will be considered for all awards for which you are eligible. Candidates for the Odyssey Program should not apply Early Decision.

Accelerated Pathways in PA and PT

Application Deadline: January 15

Elon offers an accelerated pathway to the university’s highly selective Physician Assistant Studies (PA) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) graduate programs. Designed for undergraduate students in a wide variety of majors, the Accelerated Pathway offers a 3.5 year undergraduate curriculum with the opportunity for admissions into Elon’s Physician Assistant Studies or Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the final semester of the senior year. A separate application is required by January 15.
