Love School of Business

The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business focuses on transformational educational experiences through engaged learning, excellence in teaching, mission-driven applied and pedagogical scholarship, and service, with a rigorous program of study that produces graduates able to provide principled leadership in the global community.

Elon currently offers 11 majors in the Love School of Business:

  • Economic Consulting

  • Financial Technology
  • Human Resource Management
  • International Business
  • Marketing
  • Project Management
  • Supply Chain Management

Many of the starting point of classes are the same. We note some of the common classes for you here and differentiate by major as needed.

Economics and Economic Consulting

Economics majors should seek to be enrolled in either:

  • First-Year Foundations Math (based on math placement); or,
  • Economics (ECO) 1000: Principles of Economics (Society)

All Love School of Business major also complete a 2000 level Statistics course. If you have STS 1100 or MTH 1510 credit or STS 2120 placement, you can enroll in either:

  • Statistics (STS) 2120: Statistics in Application; or,
  • ECO 2300: Statistics in Application

If you are more interested in Economics Consulting, you can add the following to your options:

  • Business Administration (BUS) 1110: Gateway to Business

As ECO 1000 is one of the highest demand classes, it is not uncommon for students to enroll in this in their spring semester.

International Business

If you are interested in International Business, be sure to complete your World Language Assessment as soon as possible. We recommend the following first-semester class options for INB majors:

  • World Language course (based on placement)
  • First-Year Foundations Math (based on math placement)
  • Economics (ECO) 1000: Principles of Economics (Society)
  • Business Administration (BUS) 1110: Gateway to Business (typically taken in 2nd or 3rd semester)

You cannot take all of these in 1 semester, especially since you also need either COR 1100 or ENG 1100. Focus on taking these your first YEAR not the first semester.

All Other Love School of Business Majors

The Love School of Business has a “Business Core” of classes. You can start with these classes to help you explore your options and begin to accomplish some of your foundational LSB courses:

  • First-Year Foundations Math (based on math placement)
  • Economics (ECO) 1000: Principles of Economics (Society)
  • Business Administration (BUS) 1110: Gateway to Business (typically taken in 2nd or 3rd semester)
