The Office of Academic Advising team works with a variety of students and majors. They are skillful at helping students assess their strengths, weaknesses and preferences when considering a major. Information connecting majors to potential careers can be found on the What Can I Do with This Major? website which must be accessed via Elon’s Student Professional Development Center website.
Each semester, Academic Advising also offers several sections of a course titled “Exploring Majors/Careers.” This ELN 1110 class carries one hour of elective credit.
Important Dates To Remember!
Declare your major by Thursday, September 15, 2022. This is our fall 2022 deadline in order to have an advisor in your academic department for Winter & Spring 2023 registration advising.
All students who meet this deadline will have an academic advisor in their major department by Thursday, October 13, 2022.
Registration advising starts after fall break and continues through until registration is completed.
Winter & Spring 2023 course registration is currently published on the Academic Calendar to begin for students with senior standing on Friday, November 4, 2022. Always check Student Planning for your official date and time to register and schedule your registration advising meeting accordingly.
This form is for students who are declaring their major for the first time or who are changing a declared major. This form includes a survey of your Elon 1010 experience for first time major declarations. Please indicate major(s) and minor(s) on the data entry form page. Change of Minor Form
Complete this form to add or remove minors only.
At the time of major declaration, a student can request a preferred advisor within the declared department of study. While there is no guarantee that the request will be fulfilled, it will be noted within the department.
*PLEASE NOTE – Once a department advisor has been assigned to a student, any advisor changes must be requested through the departmental chair.
