The Leon and Lorraine Watson North Carolina Scholarship

Eight $10,000 scholarships will be awarded annually. To qualify for selection, students must:

  • be North Carolina residents who have attended for one or more year(s) and will graduate from a North Carolina high school
  • demonstrate a high financial need (with preference to Pell eligible students)
  • have a strong record of academic achievement.

The Honorable Thad Eure North Carolina Achievement Scholarship

This is a distinctive new program at Elon designed to recognize talented students with financial need from 12 counties in the Piedmont region* of North Carolina. Three $12,000 scholarships will be awarded annually. Each recipient will also receive one $5,000 Elon Experiences grant in addition to other program benefits. The goal of the program is to provide an educational opportunity for high achieving students who might not otherwise be able to afford an Elon education.

*Eligible recipients will reside in and be graduating from a high school in one of the following counties: Alamance, Orange, Durham, Chatham, Randolph, Davidson, Guilford, Forsyth, Rockingham, Caswell, Wake and Person.

North Carolina Junior Elon Scholars

Elon University is proud to recognize North Carolina high school juniors for superior academic achievement and exceptional involvement areas which are highly valued as part of an Elon education. To qualify for selection, students must meet the following requirements:

  • An “A” average and a combined critical reading, math, and writing SAT score of 1870 or higher. Students must take the SAT/ACT with writing on or before January 26 to be considered.
  • Achievement in one or more of the following areas: an academic area of interest, leadership, community service, international or intercultural experiences, the arts, athletics, or entrepreneurial endeavors.
