A Distinctive 3+Co-op Experience

Complete three years on Elon’s campus followed by a full academic year of immersive, full-time professional experience in Charlotte, one of the nation’s fastest-growing business hubs. Graduates stand out to employers and graduate schools as professionals ready to lead with heart, curiosity and courage.

Curricular Pathway

First Year

Gateway to Business (BUS 1110)
Explore humane business practices and develop foundational leadership skills.

Second Year

Principles of Management (MGT 3230)
Examine how management decisions shape people, performance, and organizational culture.

Third Year

Business Problem-Solving and Decision Making (BUS 3650)
Strengthen consulting, teamwork, and analytical skills through real-world business projects.

Fourth Year

Business Consulting (BUS 4990, Charlotte)
Lead a yearlong consulting engagement during your full-time Charlotte residency.

Optional Winter Term

Winter Term Global Experience
Immerse yourself in a new culture and develop a global mindset through short-term study abroad.

Scholarship Opportunity

Students selected for the program receive a competitive $12,000 annual scholarship, renewable each year for those in good standing.

Who Should Apply

The 3+Co-op program is competitive and accepts only a limited number of incoming first-year students. Students with a record of leadership and service or a minimum 3.8 GPA who plan to major: Accounting, Business Analytics, Economic Consulting, Economics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Finance, Financial Technology, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing, Project Management or Supply Chain Management

How to Apply

Step 1: Apply for first-year admission to Elon University

Submit the Common Application or Elon Application with the $60 fee, official transcript(s), and Secondary School Report by:

  • Early Decision: November 1
  • Early Action: November 1
  • Regular Deadline: January 10*

If applying under the Regular Deadline, submit your first-year application by November 15 and the 3+Co-op application by December 1.

Step 2: Submit the 3+Co-op application

After you apply for first-year admission, access your Elon Acorn Account (admissions.elon.edu/status) to complete and submit the 3+Co-op Program application by December 1.

Students applying through the Common Application will receive Acorn log-in details one day after submitting their application.

Step 3: Interview process

Finalists are notified in mid-December and invited to interviews on February 6–7, 2026.

Note:
Decisions for the 3+Co-op Program are released after January 10. Students who need scholarship information before committing should not apply Early Decision.
